History of the College of Hotel and Restaurant Management
Hotel and Restaurant Management is a broad field in the hospitality industry that presents multiple career opportunities, in the most diverse and exciting industries in the world, such as management of hotels, restaurants, travel agencies, lodging facilities, entertainment venues, and other institutions in the hospitality industry.
Due to its demand, the institution offered a two-year course in Hotel and Restaurant Services in school year 2006-2007 prior to a four- year course in Hotel and Restaurant Management. In 2009-2010, Dr. Ma. Erlinda S. Zacarias was hired as Dean of the College of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management where she organized an association of the BSHRM students called, Association of Junior Hoteliers and Restaurateurs (AJHR). The Constitution and By- Laws was formulated together with the officers and members. Ms. Ginalyn Santamena acted as Coordinator of the College for the school year 2010-2011. Dr. Zacarias continued as Dean of the College from 2011-2012 up to the present school year, 2013-2014. The College of Hotel and Restaurant Management was recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on March 5, 2012 and the 1st Batch of BSHRM Graduates was in the same year. The following school year, the College Logo was designed with its corresponding meaning.
